I started my translation career 13 years ago with online and offline SAP localization projects. My major at university (Controlling/Rechnungswesen) and my personal interest (finance and economics) helped me a lot register as an SAP localization specialist with a focus on especially FI/CO module.
Along with SAP localization, I also worked in other ERP localization projects of non-SAP clients, all the major German companies. Various IT, software and website projects followed SAP and I ended up now with an experience of millions of words in these fields.
Any kind of technical documentations, automotive, marketing, machinery and equipment belong to my specialty fields as well. The number of words sums up to 5 million in these fields.
Every client has different preferences on CAT tools in the translation of their products. SAP SE63, SDL Trados, Across, memoQ, Transit NXT, MemSource, SmartCat, Wordfast, IBM OpenTM2, XTM, SDL Passolo are the ones I’ve mostly made use of so far. By request, I am gladly open to learn new CAT tools.
In 2008, I got my first language certificate ösd German B2 from Austrian Language Institute, Istanbul. In 2018, I have passed German C2 (Lesen, Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom) of Goethe Institute, Istanbul. The same year I earned English C2 (92.5 points over 100) certificate from Turkish Higher Education Institute (ÖSYM).
I am a passionate learner and go after any tiny chance to gain new knowledge and skills. To that end, in 2018 I took a 60 hour-course on Project Management Professionalfrom Istanbul Institute, an accredited education provider by Project Management Institute (PMI). In this training I learned the subtleties of project management and agile project management.
The increasing use of machine translation in the language industry led me to research machine learning and understand the background of language processing by machines. I regularly attend the machine translation user group webinars organized by TAUS.
French and Italian are the other languages I can speak at a beginner level and I need some more time to master them.
In each and every process of my works, I keep myself aligned with the international standards of DIN EN ISO 17100.
